This advanced practice training course helps participants understand how biofilm forms and interacts with chronic wounds. Special attention is placed on the treatment and debridement of wounds that contain biofilm.

  • Define and describe biofilm formation and structure
  • Describe how biofilms interact with chronic wounds
  • Describe the clinical signs of biofilm and how this differs from signs of infection
  • Describe how to treat wounds that contain biofilm
